2014 Regionals Wrap Up

This past weekend marked CrossFit Creature's debut at the Australian CrossFit Games Regionals. The three days of intense compeition was a fantastic opportunity for our affiliate to be apart of the community and support our Coach/Athletes Rory ‘The Rooster’ Boyden and Evelina Dalecki.

From our perspective; workout highlights included Rory's event record on the Rope Climb/ Run event and Ev, practicing what she preaches, as she elgantly strolled down the stadium on her hands in a perfect hollow position. Both athletes exuded confidence all weekend on the fiercely competitive arena floor. This was personified in both athletes going three from three in their snatches and unbroken on their overhead squats.

The best moments of the weekend, however, were from the crowd. The roar from the Creature Crew was deafening when Rory got off the rower in Event 6. Kam Ahmad in particular nearly broke the fence down in his encouragement. Similarly the sea of 'Team Dalecki' shirts was fantastic to see. Both athletes were humbled by the support. They regularly credited the persistant Creature encouragement with helping them through the 'hurt' during the workouts.

From all of the coaches at Creature, we would like to thank  all who came down to Wollongong to support. Also to those who couldn't make it down and watched online. We appreciate your support and hope you had a fantastic time. Additionally, we would like to thank the broader CrossFit Community for welcoming us so warmly in our first Games Season.
